We advocate the preservation of sustainable, traditional, and quality practices in the industries of agave distilled spirits.

The Tequila Interchange Project (TIP) is a non-profit organization and consumer advocacy group for agave distilled spirits comprised of bartenders, consultants, educators, researchers, consumers, and tequila enthusiasts. Our organization advocates the preservation of sustainable, traditional, and quality practices in the industries of agave distilled spirits. In light of concerning trends that are currently becoming mainstays in the production of agave distillates, TIP seeks to place a renewed emphasis on the importance of preserving the great heritage of agave distillation in Mexico.

Why This Is Important

Tequila is a region. Agave is a culture. Mezcales are the spirit of Mexico. The traditions that make them distinct are centuries old. From cultivation, fermentation, and distillation each step is both an art and a science. Agave fibers weave generation to generation and their sugars bind the story of Mexico to its people.

TAKE ACTION

TIP and its projects are 100% independent. We do not receive sponsorship from any spirits brand or governmental agency, and we do not provide certifications. Our programs invite the actors of the agave spirits industry to improve our environment and the quality of life of the individuals and families that depend on the industry. Your support is the only way TIP has to continue expanding our initiatives, guaranteeing their legitimacy and avoiding conflicts of interest.
